Richard has been keeping marine aquariums for over 10 years, specifically reef aquariums since 1997. He has published several articles for widely read on-line reef magazines such as Advanced Aquarist and Reefkeeping.com. Richard is credited with the invention of the "Durso Standpipe", a device used to silence the overflows chambers used in fish tanks. It has proven most popular and is widely recognized throughout the world in the reef related hobby. His reef system is designed to be a SPS and clam dominated display. Richard currently maintains a very impressive 180g reef system which was the featured in September 2002 issue of Advanced Aquarist.
