 Back to salt at last...

I been dry for last few years, but opperated many various kinds of tanks over the years...fresh, salt, river (failed experiement with fresh water sponges and other river inverts.) and tutrtles.

The fam thinks I tend to get too obessed so I'm only allowed one tank this time around...going full reef in a 29.

I prefer a fully "live" start...just got back from South Carolina beach collecting trip, low tide sand, dry rock base, aglae mats, small clams, a little live rock and as much water as I could haul. Not just that I'm impatient, I do love the random nature of it too.

I've also got a bad habit of not liking to pay absurd prices for stuff...so I invent much of my equipment. Got a great idea for 55 jellyfish thing, but I'm only allowed the one tank...for now Twisted Evil

I'm not exactly new at this, though not quite an "expert." Baring a detour into jellyfish, this tank concept is about INTENSE detail. I'm building artificial reef walls...gluing old dead coral and rock to panels to fill entire back wall. Sure, it'll look horribly fake when I install it...but the idea is to fill all the unused vertical space along the back wall with tons of nooks and crannies for stuff to develop. Eventually I hope it'll be so covered over with everything the fake look will vanish.

And my jelly dreams? Don't get me started...

3 weeks on new 29 live start and it's doing exceptionally well.

Hi diamondjim, so what's the progress?

[[[[[[------>>> For Everyone Listening and Reading <<<------]]]]]]
Life throws us obstacles and blindsides us from to-to-time . . . and this is what has happened to my family, which has resulted in my inactivity here! Crying or Very sad Not without getting into too much personal detail (for obvious reasons), there has been severe sickness, discovery of a correctable tumor, operation and subsequent recovery and an untimely passing of a family member to mention just a few of the obstacles my family has recently experienced! Shocked I appreciate your patience up to this point and now look forward to getting back to a normal routine (gosh - what's that!?).

Hi diamondjim, obviously some time has quietly passed since we last 'talked' . . . do you have updates as to the progress of your tank and any images you'd like to share with us that could help us visualize your jouney back to getting hooked . . . (line and sinker!).
